Judith Skye Lavendar, trained as an artist and Art Therapist, works in painting and writing. Her current artwork reflects the world she loves best, that of human behavior. The oil and mixed media paintings probe deeply into her psyche, and she taps her wealth of experience for themes. Her images appear on the canvases with gesture and complex mark-making, depending on the immediacy of the material experience.

Her ideas are influenced by a wide range of sources, including growing up on a working horse farm, her passion for flying, music, her son, an entrepreneur, author, and photojournalist, and the writings of many writers like Joan Didion.
